Our Grants
how we fund
Our Grants
The Eichholz Foundation awards grants ranging from $2,500 to $5,000,000. Grants are decided upon by the trustees at quarterly meetings and are often given as pledges over several years, as challenge grants to inspire additional funding for our grantees and as catalysts to inspire new projects. We make between 70-100 grants per year to organizations across the United States.
All of our grants are given at the discretion of our trustees.
We do not accept applications or solicitations.

Merci Grants
The Eichholz Foundation began giving Merci Grants in 2016 in honor of our founder whose nickname was Merci. Merci Grants are $100,000 each and are given at the discretion of two family trustees annually. They give small to mid-size organizations with whom the Foundation already has an established relationship a meaningful and inspiring larger grant to pursue a special project or initiative.
Merci Grants are given to organizations at an “inflection point” to help them expand, increase outreach, launch new programs and achieve new possibilities.
